Fehmarn is a German island in the Baltic Sea, located off the northeastern coast of Germany. Famous for its sandy beaches, clear waters, and ideal conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing, Fehmarn is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and tourists seeking relaxation. In addition to water activities, the island also offers interesting cultural and natural attractions.

The Surf Festival originated in 2003 from the idea of hosting a party to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Surf Magazine, which aimed to excite windsurfing traders, readers, and partners of SURF equally. From this original idea, Europe's largest windsurfing outdoor fair has since developed, with over 30,000 visitors annually.
