This feedback is part of the PRO-tagonist Tour. Wingfoilers of all different levels can demo a Bora v2 wing in return for their unbiased feedback. Enjoy the read!

THE RIDER

Thomas is a Belgian professional IQ foil windsurfer and contender for the Olympics. Prior to committing to IQ foiling, he has won and participated in multiple Europeans and international youth slalom competitions. He loves to wing foil in his spare time and is considered an expert. His standard wing is a 5.5 Duotone slick and he tested the Reptile Bora v2 4.2 RH back-to-back with an Armstrong 3.5 wing. He used a fanatic foil and board.

THE CONDITIONS

Wind: consistent 22-26 knots

Water: mostly flat with some sections of wind swell

Time on the water: 2 hours

FEEDBACK

His first words when back on shore were: “This is completely absurd, that wing has so much power”. With his racing background, he really loves the unmatched direct and slippery feel of the wing. He calls it pure excitement.

The additional speed translates into higher jumps. The wing also provides power and feedback in the air, which makes rotational tricks like the air jibe and flakka easier and more fun according to Thomas.

Jibes and tacks are easy and intuitive. The hard handles allow you to focus on the turn and completely forget about the wing. The handles are also helpful to pump yourself up on foil. It took him 1 small gust and 2 pumps to get going.

I RECOMMEND THIS WING TO

Anyone who loves a powered ride that keeps you smiling from the first to the last minute.

PROtagonist: Thomas
